The Restorer

Psalm 23 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of…

Great Is The Lord

Psalm 145:3-7 “Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wonderful works, I will meditate. Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts, and I will tell of Your greatness. They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness and will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.” Your…

Trust In The Lord

Proverbs 3:5-6 “. . . Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.” The good news is that the God who helped Moses and who has delivered His people all through history is available to you today. This is how you can be…

God Is Greater Than Our Hearts

1 John 3:20 “For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.” Have you ever heard anyone say, “I know God has forgiven me, but I’ll never be able to forgive myself”? Self-condemnation can come from several places, in any case, it is an enemy the Lord has already defeated. Romans 8:1 tells us, “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” This verse covers all condemnation, including…

West Virginia Deployment

Over the July 4th weekend CH Toni Barros and CH Brenda Swartz deployed to assist the flood victims in West Virginia. What a learning experience this was. The “Do Nots”

I don’t know about you but I suffer sometimes from the “do nots” in my walk. When Jesus was teaching he often spoke about the “do nots”. You know – do not worry, do not fear and oh yea – do not doubt. It’s not like I wake up every morning and while drinking my coffee I add in a dash of worry, stir in a little fear and wash it all down with doubt … but there are days…

Seek Wisdom – Devotional

1 Corinthians 1:30 “Of God are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.” In all of your daily life, your ways, your work, in everything abide in Jesus as your wisdom. Your body and your daily life share in the great salvation: In Christ, the wisdom of God, provision has been made for your guidance too. Your body is His temple, your daily life is the sphere for glorifying…

The Living Water part 2

Luke 24:25 “. . . . slow of heart to believe.” The second stage is from the words Jesus spoke to the disciples when he told them that they “were slow of heart to believe.” They heard the message from the women, and they told the Stranger that walked with them: (Luke 15:22-23) “Certain women of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; and when they found not his body, they came, saying that they had…

The Living Water

Luke 24:5-6 ‘And as they were afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” Imagine how the disciples were feeling that morning as they started…

His Gifts – Our Service part 4

John15:7 “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” If you are abiding in Jesus and His words abide in you, they teach us to pray in accordance with the will of God. Abiding in Jesus our self-will is kept down to a minimum, and the thoughts and wishes of nature are brought into captivity to the thoughts and wishes of Jesus. Like mindedness…
