The “Do Nots”

The “Do Nots”

I don’t know about you but I suffer sometimes from the “do nots” in my walk. When Jesus was teaching he often spoke about the “do nots”. You know – do not worry, do not fear and oh yea – do not doubt. It’s not like I wake up every morning and while drinking my coffee I add in a dash of worry, stir in a little fear and wash it all down with doubt … but there are days when one of the three rears their ugly head.

Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus tells us not to worry. He speaks of how our Father takes care of the sparrows and knows all the hair on our head. That He alone takes care of us.

Matthew 14:27, Jesus tells us to take courage, not fear. Read about Peter and see how fear was removed until he took his eyes off the One who cast fear away.

Matthew 21:21, Jesus talks about faith and having no doubt. All we have to do is ask, I’m not talking about “name it claim it” stuff but just ask the Father.

This year I’ve been trying to dig deeper into stories I’ve heard all my life in His Word. Asking for wisdom and understanding, Looking and seeking what I am suppose to be getting. It’s been a journey for sure. It’s also brought me strength, courage and confidence.

Find yourself, your purpose by going deeper in God’s Word. It truly is there and it’s waiting for you to discover.
