My Soul Melts…

There is a verse in the book of Psalms and I find that it speaks to me more and more lately for various reasons. What is the verse? It is Psalm 119:28. “My soul melts from heaviness. Strengthen me according to Your Word.” You may be wondering why that verse of all the amazing ones in Psalms? It’s because it reveals a place that I think we – those of us seeking Him- have to get to so we can…

Praying For Others

James 5:16 “Pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” Have you ever wondered why God would call you to pray for another person? James 5:16 says “Pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” We have been talking about your walk with the Father and here we shift gears a little as we talk about…

The Living Water part 2

Luke 24:25 “. . . . slow of heart to believe.” The second stage is from the words Jesus spoke to the disciples when he told them that they “were slow of heart to believe.” They heard the message from the women, and they told the Stranger that walked with them: (Luke 15:22-23) “Certain women of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; and when they found not his body, they came, saying that they had…

The Living Water

Luke 24:5-6 ‘And as they were afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” Imagine how the disciples were feeling that morning as they started…

Fellowship with Jesus – Devotional

Isaiah 27:2-3 “In that day sing ye unto her, A vineyard of red wine. I the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it day and night.” The second objection that we hear quite often has to do with our sinfulness. Christians are so used to looking at sinning as something that we do daily because it is inevitable that we cannot keep up an abiding fellowship with Jesus, so…

Moment to Moment – Devotional

2 Cor. 6:2 “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” To everyone that wants to learn the art of living moment to moment, I want to say: the way to learn it is to exercise yourself in living in the present moment. Every time your attention is free to occupy yourself with the thought of Jesus, whether it is with time to think and pray, or just for a few minutes, let your first…

2 Corinthians 1:21 “He which stablisheth us with you in Christ . . . is God.” Psalm 138:8 “The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.” Phil. 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” 1 Cor. 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the…

Making Life Changing Steps

I am taking a passion I have to the extremes – to the point of making a life changing step. The over-all vision has always been there, just not clear through the years, then when Jay was going through his medical board and all the craziness of life started happening at one time I felt lost in a fog but I always knew God had a plan for all this. When Jay gave his life to Christ, was baptized and…

Faith -Devotional

Colossians 2:6-7 “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith . . . abounding therein.” Paul teaches us a great lesson here; it is not just by faith that we first came to Jesus and are united to Him, but it is by faith that we are to be rooted and established in our union with Jesus. Faith is as essential for the…
