The Lord Is My Rock!
Psalm 18:2-3, 6 “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. . . . In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry…
Overcoming Problems
Roman 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” The first purpose God has for allowing us to go through adversity is to conform us. When the eyes of our heart are set on doing only what we want to do, then we will not be able to hear God. Jesus took time to be alone with the…
God’s Couch to 5K and Beyond
Isa. 50:7 “For the Lord God helps me, therefore, I am not disgraced; therefore, I have set my face like flint, and I know that I will not be ashamed.” Hebrews 12:1-2 “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” One of the things that is very important is the fact that God uses prayer to get us prepared for victory. Rom. 9:3-5 “For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons, and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Law and the temple service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.” The second…
Peace In A Stressful World
Phil. 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The first spiritual marker we have is peace. When we are on the right track with the Holy Spirit and others are telling us we are wrong we need peace. Peace that is administered through the Holy Spirit assures us that we are in step with God’s will for our lives. Phil. 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but…
He Is Our Guide
John 16:13 “When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” One of the primary roles of the Holy Spirit is the role of a guide, but it is not always easy to discern His voice. People always ask “How do I know who is talking to me?…
