Romans 10:11 “For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
If you are facing some battles or situations and you are asking how to fight them on your knees; or even how you can overcome difficulties while you remain faithful to the Father? The first thing you need to be careful about is to not let anything interrupt your time with the Lord. If anything, your time with Him should increase and not decrease. It is easy to get distracted when conflicts come up. You get so busy worrying about your troubles and running after solutions that you fail to turn to the One that can really help (Psalm 37:5-9). You might even be tempted to blame the Lord for allowing the problem to come into your life. Remember, He knows your future and all the people that will be affected eternally because of your obedience to Him. You can be certain that He is not letting you down, He is busy building you up. Make sure you have time to focus completely on the Lord, do not let anything come before your communion with Him. It is that important to your success.
Depend completely on God to direct your steps. He can see your entire path ahead and He knows where everyone of the bumps are. In Psalm 38:12-13, 15 David wrote “Those who seek my life lay snares for me; and those who seek to injure me have threatened destruction, and they devise treachery all day long. But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; and I am like a mute man who does not open his mouth . . . . . For I hope in You, O Lord; You will answer, O Lord My God.” God wants to guide you in the way you should go so He can keep you safe. Do not defend yourself or try to get people on your side. Trust the Lord, He has the best perspective on what is happening, and he will keep you safe. All you have to do is pay attention to Him and obey His direction, because “the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard” (Is.52:12). He will protect you on every side.
If the Lord reveals any sinfulness in your life, repent of it immediately. Psalm 66:18-19 “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer” (Psalm 66:18-19). The Father will not compete to be the Master of your life. He wants you to choose Him above your transgressions.
Remember, there can only be one person in control and that person has to be the Lord. When we fight our battles on our knees, we no longer depend on our own weapons, our strategies, our abilities, or our resources. We give up the right to fight the battle on our own terms or to find our own solutions. We have to allow the Father to run the show. Psalm 20:6-8 “I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the strength of His saving right hand. Some boast in chariots and some in horses, but we will boast in the name of the Lord, our God. They have bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stood upright.” You might have to step out in faith when it is uncomfortable or even petrifying to do so (Josh. 6). You might have to temporarily give up some of your goals so you can seek the objectives that the Lord has for you (1 Sam. 24). No matter how much discomfort His commands cause you, obey Him. Rom 10:11 “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” The Father will not let you down.
Understand that people are never your enemy, sin is your enemy. Remember that each person is loved by God and needs Jesus to be their Savior. If the ones opposing you are believers, they are also your brothers and sisters in Christ. 1 John 4:20 is pretty clear “If someone says, I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.” We need to make every effort to make sure no bitterness, anger, or un-forgiveness takes root in our hearts. We are to love others as Christ has loved us.
The dark times only last as long as necessary. It is true that we will continue to fight some battles throughout our lives, but we make a mistake when we think that things will never change. The training does not go on forever. Adversity lasts only as long as it takes for God to accomplish His purpose in our lives. He limits the heartache and the pain we experience. He knows what we can handle and what we need. Take heart because He is producing in you what is extremely valuable and eternal (2 Cor. 4:16-18).
Roman 8:28 “we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those that love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” If the Father allows a trial or a challenge in your life, you can be sure that it is ultimately for your good and His glory.
