Prayer Life #29

Prayer Life #29

More is at stake through our prayer life than what we think! Worldwide revival waits on the reverent, submissive prayer of God’s people, in the same way that Jesus submitted His life to the Father’s will and, in turn, was the instrument used to bring salvation. As we submit our lives to the Father’s will, He can then use our lives to touch a lost and hurting world. Prayer adjusted Jesus fully to the Father’s will and God’s great salvation was purchased. This has to be the clear and simple pattern for our lives. May we also let God adjust us as we pray and secure eternal salvation for the world, according to the Father’s will. Then our lives will be of maximum use to bring healing and repentance to the church and salvation to the lost world.

Much of the time we forget that the Father’s will for our lives also impacts eternity. Every day we come in contact with Christians that need a fresh word from the Lord and we also come in contact with people that do not know Jesus and they need to see and hear the gospel witnessed through our lives. If you are a child of God, your life as it is used by the Father, will affect eternity for those around you.

What kind of person does God use to change the course of history? He uses those He can entrust the deepest things of His heart to through prayer. Prayer releases our lives to the Father and gives Him unhindered access to use us to accomplish His will. This is really the pattern of God’s nature, His ways, His purposes, and His activities throughout the Bible. He sets the pace, then He chooses and calls someone to walk with Him so He can complete His purposes through them. They know by prayer what God’s will is for their lives, and as they obey Him, He accomplishes that will through them. In turn, their world and their generation are eternally affected. This kind of prayer life releases you to the will of the Father, so Almighty God can use such a person in His purpose of drawing people to Himself in this hurting and confused world.

God desires to shape the prayer lives of His people so Christians can know with confidence that they have sought the Father’s will and that they are walking in His will. God desires that His people spend enough time with Him so they can say with confidence that they can with confidence that the words they share with the world are from the heart of God and just from man. God desires to have a people who are convinced through prayer that God is in complete control, that His ways are right, and that their heart’s desire is to immediately obey His direction found in deep, life changing prayer.

To continue in this kind of prayer, followed by absolute obedience to the will of God, will result in hearing these words from the Master: “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:21).
